Scan Barcode
Read EAN, UPC and Code 128 product barcodes with the camera or from an image.
Barcodes on packaging hold the product number, not a link. Reading one is how you check a price against another shop, look up what is actually inside a product, or record stock without typing thirteen digits by hand. This reader shows you the number and the barcode family it came from.
How to use it
- Tap Scan with the camera and hold the barcode flat in the frame.
- Wait for the number to appear — EAN, UPC, Code 128 and others are read.
- Copy the number, or search for it to find the product.
Common questions
Which barcode types work?
EAN-13 and EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, ITF and Codabar. The scanner names the family it matched so you know what you are holding.
It will not read on my iPhone.
Barcode detection uses a browser feature that Chrome on Android has and Safari does not. QR scanning still works everywhere; plain barcodes currently need an Android phone.
Why is nothing detected?
Barcodes need to be flat, filling most of the frame, and evenly lit. A curved label on a bottle is the usual culprit — flatten it or photograph it straight on.
Does the product name appear?
No. A barcode contains only a number. Looking up what that number belongs to needs a product database, which would mean sending your scan to a server, so this tool stops at the number.
- Files are never sent to a server
- Free, no account and no watermark
- Runs even on an older phone
