Add Page Numbers
Put page numbers on a PDF. Choose the position and the starting number.
Numbered pages matter the moment a document is printed, stapled or discussed. A court filing, a tender, or a contract referred to over the phone all depend on both sides being able to say page eleven and mean the same sheet.
How to use it
- Open the PDF you want numbered.
- Choose where the numbers should sit on the page.
- Save the numbered document.
Common questions
Can I start from a number other than 1?
Numbering runs from the first page of the file. If a cover page should not count, remove it first, number the rest, then merge the cover back on.
Will numbers cover existing text?
They sit in the page margin, which is empty on almost every document. Check a page with a footer before sending it on.
Does it renumber a document that already has numbers?
No. It adds a new set, so a document that was already numbered will end up showing two. Use it on documents without numbers.
