Resize Image
Set width and height in pixels or percent. Proportions stay intact.
Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of a photo, which is a different job from compressing it. You resize when a form asks for 600x800 pixels, when a marketplace wants square images, or when a 4000-pixel-wide camera photo is simply larger than anything that will display it.
How to use it
- Choose the photo you want to resize.
- Enter the width and height you need in pixels.
- Save the resized copy to your device.
Common questions
What is the difference from compressing?
Resizing changes how many pixels the image has. Compressing keeps the pixels and lowers the quality instead. If a site rejects your file for being too big in megabytes, compress; if it names pixel dimensions, resize.
Will the photo stretch?
Only if you ask for a shape that does not match the original. Keeping the aspect ratio locked scales both sides together so faces and text stay the right shape.
Can I make a small photo bigger?
You can, but enlarging invents pixels that were never captured, so the result looks soft. Starting from the largest original you have always beats enlarging a small one.
